Tenterden
Tenterden, dubbed the “Jewel of the Weald”, retains its historical charm and is set amidst the wonderful Kentish countryside.
I love working in our Tenterden office. The high street has retained its old market town atmosphere. There's still a good selection of independent shops and some great pubs. The schools have excellent reputations too.

- Property for sale in Tenterden
As one of the most highly regarded towns in the South East of England, Tenterden is a popular destination due to its unique mix of fascinating history, traditional shopping, beautiful countryside and activities for all the family.
You will find our Tenterden Estate Agents office at the eastern end of the town opposite the recreation ground.
This picturesque ‘Cinque Port’ of Tenterden can be found nestled within the heart of the Kent countryside and is often referred to by many as the Jewel of the [Kent] Weald. With its fine array of historic houses, high street shops and boutiques, it is in no doubt, one of the most attractive of the Kentish towns and visited by many due to its historical heritage.
Tenterden was originally made famous by William Caxton who in 1477 printed the very first English book and was said to be born here. Furthermore, it is claimed that the later Lord Nelson’s daughter, Horatia met and married the vicar of St Mildred’s Church – the church that sits proudly within this traditional town.
Aside from its traditional and historical ties, Tenterden is a fine example of how ‘old meets new’ for it is a true 21st-century bustling town which boasts a variety of modern amenities, varied and interesting shopping, great places to stay and fascinating attractions and events for all the family.
