This village always proves popular with families as it has a great school, lovely walks and I can highly recommend the friendly Five Bells Inn.

Brabourne is situated at the foot of the North Downs close to the village of Smeeth, the town of Ashford and within easy reach of the coast. As a parish, it is comprised of three hamlets, West and East Brabourne and Brabourne Lees. The name ‘Brabourne’ is derived from ‘Bradde Burn’ (broad stream) and is mentioned in the Domesday Book.
The church of St Mary’s was originally built in 1140 and stands on the site of an earlier Saxon church. St Mary’s holds many original features including an original Norman window thought to be the only one of its kind in England.
Brabourne offers a thriving and busy community with plenty of things to do!
For those with young children, Brabourne Primary School regularly comes near to the top in Kent’s Primary School League or for those with pre school children, there is a good children’s nursery.
As you would expect with a village location, Brabourne hosts a number of local stores and pubs including Orpins Store which stays open all hours and Clarkes the butchers as a favourer traditional supplier of meat. There are several friendly pubs to chose from including The Five Bells at East Brabourne, The Tiger Inn at nearby Stowting, and The Blue Anchor.
With its close proximity to Smeeth, most of Brabourne’s organisations are shared including its Scouts and Guides Associations, Gardeners Society, and the local football club.
