The Black Lion is set in the historic village of Appledore, which can trace its history back to the Viking times when it was once a busy port.

Located in the quiet village of Appledore in the heart of Kent, The Black Lion is a traditional English pub and restaurant offering its guests the warmest of welcomes every day of the year.

The Black Lion is a free house (we are not owned or run by a brewery) which means its owners can offer a varied seasonal selection of real ales, an impressive wine list and also allows for the use of some really fantastic local produce on their menu!

An extensive menu is available every day including locally reared lamb and freshly caught fish as a speciality – these dishes are not to be missed!
