The Red Lion is a 16th-century country pub in the picturesque village of Charing Heath, located between Maidstone and Ashford.

It is a family friendly venue, with an invitation extended to well-behaved dogs, it’s a relaxed and homely place to savour exceptional ales, wines and spirits, plus a delicious menu of home-cooked country style food.

Built in 1562, the pub exudes character and charm with authentic oak-beamed ceilings and wooden paneling – but it’s not the only historic building around these parts…

Just off the M20 near Leeds Castle, the Red Lion makes for an ideal stop-off for a country pub lunch on your pilgrimage of historical appreciation.
