The Kings Head

The Kings Head is a traditional country pub and popular dining destination in the pretty village of Shadoxhurst near Ashford.

For centuries it has served the walkers who explore the local woodlands, and a growing reputation for food now sees visitors make the journey from further afield.

Parts of the pub date back as far as 1580, and the historic building exudes age-old character and charm. Inside you’ll discover some fine architectural features, including the old porch bearing the family crest of the original owners.

More importantly, you’ll also find a comfortable and cosy bar – where cracking real ales, excellent wines, plentiful soft drinks and a proper warm welcome await.

There’s a pub quiz here too, held on the last Sunday of every month at 7:30pm (£2 per person with proceeds going to charity). Don’t miss your chance to take the crown at the Kings Head.
