• Rare opportunity to acquire an original Devon Sundowner – one careful owner from new, garaged and regularly serviced, with a complete service history which is very rare.
• Fully equipped with mostly original fittings, including seat covers, curtains, gas cooker which folds out, two gas cylinders, a table that can be freestanding outside or fixed between the rear seats, pop-up folding roof in excellent condition, full double bed with two narrow unfolding bunks on each side in the roof space, plus a single bunk that fits across the cab in the front.
• Comes with a full-service history from new in 1979 and a genuine 130,000 miles on the clock, featuring an unusually powerful 2-liter air-cooled engine with servo brakes.
• This much-loved camper van has been regularly serviced and maintained over the years and has been part of the family.
• For example, in 2013, the engine was removed for repairs.
• The clutch was replaced with a new clutch kit, including bump stops and push rod seals. A new rear main oil seal and heater cables were also installed, along with new heat exchangers. Three new rear seat belts were fitted, and the distributor was replaced with electronic ignition. Both cylinder heads were removed, studs were replaced, and then refitted. The OSR/NSF flexi brake hose was replaced, along with a new OSF tyre. The corroded floor pan was removed and new floor plans were welded in place, while rear spring plate covers were replaced.
• In 2014, a new fuel gauge and tank sender were installed, along with a new fan belt and a full service.
• In 2015 a new brake master cylinder, brake calliper, rear brake shoes and cylinder, steering damper, and a new twin carb kit were fitted.
• In 2016, a full service and MOT were completed, along with a new washer pump. Further welding was done underneath, and the carburettor was adjusted.
