Electric vehicles will appear in the individual catalogues when entered. Catalogues are built in the days leading up to an auction, so check back as the sale approaches.
Buying an electric car at auction
Hobbs Parker’s online timed vehicle auctions are open to private and trade buyers. You can view forthcoming catalogues online, inspect vehicles at our auction centre in Ashford during the advertised viewing times and place bids through our online system.
Buying a used EV at auction involves the normal used-car checks plus a few electric-specific considerations. These include realistic range, charging cables, the exact battery version and any battery or manufacturer-warranty information supplied with the vehicle.

How to bid
To bid online, create an account, verify your email address and register for the auction you want to join. You can place individual bids or enter the maximum amount you are prepared to pay.
Before bidding, read the lot description, photographs and grade carefully. Check the buyer’s fee and decide your maximum total spend, including the fee and any work or missing equipment you have allowed for.
Some lots are offered for sale from the opening bid. On other lots, bids may be provisional if the seller’s reserve is not reached. The individual lot and bidding screen explain the applicable position.
View before you bid
We recommend viewing a vehicle before bidding whenever possible. The current auction page gives the applicable viewing times at our Ashford auction centre.
For an EV, check the same points you would on any used car: bodywork, interior, tyres, wheels, documents, service history and general condition. Also look at the charging port, note which cables are supplied and read any battery or warranty information listed for the vehicle.
Hobbs Parker describes the information supplied with a lot but does not independently certify battery health. If you require a technical assessment, obtain advice from the manufacturer or a suitably qualified EV specialist before bidding.
Selling an electric car at auction
If you own an electric car and are considering selling, our auctioneers can give you a current view of its likely auction value and discuss an appropriate reserve where applicable.
Competitive bidding allows participating buyers to establish the market price on the day. It does not guarantee a particular result, but an agreed reserve can protect the minimum figure at which the vehicle may be sold.

Preparing an EV for auction
Complete documents and equipment can help buyers assess a vehicle more confidently. Bring the V5C, service and MOT information, all keys, all charging cables supplied with the car and any manufacturer or independently produced battery information you hold.
