Conditions of Sale

Our standard Conditions of Sale are contained in the printed catalogues available at our auction centre.

Viewing

You may view most items from 8:00am on the morning of the sale

Buyers Registration Numbers

Please register at the sales office prior to the sale. Registration starts at 8.30 am on the day of the sale. We will issue you will a bidding number which you must use to bid. Please also remember this when you pay for your lots.

Lot Description

Please note that we have not been able to inspect the lots prior to preparing the catalogue. Therefore, the description of each lot has been prepared by the vendors, and accordingly we accept no responsibility for the accuracy of any description of each lot or for any fault or defect in any lot.

Availability of Items

All items are offered subject to availability.  If you will be travelling a long distance we recommend that you call us to confirm that the lots have arrived for sale before leaving.

Faults and Safety

All items are sold as viewed with all faults unless otherwise described. Electrical items that have passed the PAT Test simply comply with DTI standards for safety. This does not imply that the item is in working order and no guarantee or warranty is implied. All other electrical items will be sold as scrap.

Purchasers should be aware that the Sale of Good Act 1979 does not apply to this auction as all lots are Sold as Seen.

Purchasers must satisfy themselves where applicable any item purchased at auction complies with the 1974 Health and Safety at Work Act, and subsequent regulations made under it.

It remains the buyers’ responsibility to check the safety of any mechanical or electrical item purchased before attempting to use it. The Auctioneers cannot accept liability for any loss or damage sustained if this warning is disregarded.

Payment Terms

Please remember that our terms of sale are for payment on the day of sale.

Methods of Payment

We do not accept cash or credit cards for any payments. Sorry, no exceptions.

All payments need to be made by debit card please. There is no limit for debit card payments and no extra charges. We do not accept American Express cards.

We will only accept payment by BACS or cheque if this has been agreed in advance.

Value Added Tax

All items marked thus (*) are liable to VAT which will be added to the purchase ticket.  Please bear this in mind when bidding.

Buyers Premium

A Buyers Premium of 10% (plus VAT) of the sale value will be charged on all items subject to a maximum of £250 (plus VAT) per lot on lots sold for £2,500 or more.

Where items or sold on behalf of the Fire and Rescue Service the Buyers Premium is 20% (plus VAT)

Upset or Minimum Price

The upset price on all lots will be £5. This will be the opening bid and is the minumum price any lot will be sold for.

Security of Lots

Purchasers are reminded that the safety and security of the item becomes the responsibility of the purchaser at the fall of the hammer.  Market and security staff are in attendance, but will be withdrawn when the last lot has been sold. You are advised to make your own arrangements to insure your purchases immediately.

Removal of Lots from the Auction Centre

No lot to be removed from the sale ground without written a printed passout which will be issued by our sales office staff when you pay for your purchases.

All purchases must be removed from the auction centre on the day of the sale.  All lots remaining at the auction centre after 5.30 pm on the day of sale will be disposed of.

Tractor Documents

Tractors do not always have relevant V5 documentation and are therefore sold without log books, unless otherwise described.

Clients’ Monies

Monies received on behalf of clients excluding livestock sales are deposited and held in a non-interest bearing client account maintained at Lloyds Bank Group, High St, Ashford, Kent
