Top Price per Kilo – 226p/kg – N A Balcomb & Son: Top Price per head – £120 – Church Street Farm
Report on trade: Good numbers forward for our Friday sale between Christmas and the New Year and wholesales were keen to take numbers both for home and export deliveries. Generally weight and finish were most in demand with plenty of good heavy lambs making £100 to £110 and topping at £120 for a Texel heavyweight from Church Street Farm. Best of the Romney bred lambs also up over £100. This was a strong trade throughout and only the lean lightweights finding any resistance.
With supplies nationally undoubtedly suffering from the wet conditions prospects for the New Year hogget trade look promising.

Report on trade: Not the spark in the ewe trade as found in the lamb sale but some of the stronger better fleshed ewes still made £75 to £90. Top calls were £104 for Texels and £100 for Suffolks from D Gowland.

Report on trade: A small selection penned – we will see more at are weekly Tuesday sales in the coming weeks. Top call £65 for Texel crosses from R & W Brown and then £61.50 from B Wimble. Averages: Top £65 and average £51.82
