Cull Cows and Bulls – 70 Sold
Auctioneer: Peter Kingwill – 07795 200357
Report on trade: Another very good seasonal entry of cows and overage clean cattle met again a very firm and positive trade. With the Pound continuing to ease imported processing beef from Europe, in general, and Ireland, in particular, is getting more expensive. Demand for feeding and grazing cattle remains very strong.
We had few dairy culls forward this week and more were wanted. Also a high proportion of non assured stock this week making no difference on feeding types but some 10p behind on slaughter animals. Overage stock prices are being drawn up by strength of cow trade.
Limousins from J F Windibank 150p,148p,143p, 140p (Non FA); Limousin 130p from G L Boulden & Sons ; Aberdeen Angus 140p Betchworth Estate and 135p, 131p S P Churchill (Non FA); Sussex 128p,124p (£944) from Freshfield Farms and 127p (£840) Torry Hill Farms with Charolais 126p (£904)from J Berryman.
Holstein Friesians made 118p (£986) from J Leggat & Son; 117p, 116p (£1058) W S Furnival.
A Hereford bull £1119 and Holstein £819. This is a keen trade and more cattle are wanted.
