Report on trade: Another cracking trade for store lambs with the top end £90 plus and up to £98.50 from T Crick and C H Ellis Ltd, medium store selling readily around £85 and only small long-term sorts below £75. Top price of the day £108.50 for a pen of meated Suffolk crosses from H Crump & Son.

Again, good attendance of buyers from the West Country competing well with the local interest. At these levels producers would be advised to take advantage of these favourable returns.

Breeding sheep were offered for the first time this season and A E Daw & Sons offering a complete flock dispersal of their Suffolk x Mule ewes which had been farmed on an early lambing cycle. Current confidence in the sheep sector meant a large crowd of prospective buyers were present and saw 1 lamb ewes make to £175, 2 and 3 lamb £168 and older to £147 with the whole flock averaging £155. Poland Brothers sold Mule and Suffolk cross ewes at £132.
