Another entry that ended up being slightly bigger than expected for the time of year and a trade, the like of, we have never seen before. Prices are unbelievable for all stores on offer and despite a lower quality entry in the cross bred section, the average of £124 head was maintained on the fortnight before. Prices look incredibly strong for what is on offer and it raises a question of whether it is worth finishing these sheep if these levels remain as strong as this. Many strong lambs over £130 head, and even over £140 this time with a top of £160 taken by H G Tompsett & Sons, and George Dallaway with a super pen of Suffolk lambs at £145.50. Very few lambs changing hands below £100 with only long termers really from £100-£110, and even minority breeds maintaining these levels. The Romney wether store lambs on offer this week were one of the best quality entries we have seen all year, and these sold to a particularly strong trade, topping at £138.50 this time from Mr Chris Allen. These are levels we have never seen before in this section, with several others selling from £120-£130.
