Top Price Per Kilo – 507p/kg – Miss Georgia Jackson
Top Price Price Per Head  – £240/hd – MJ Ashworth

A good number of lambs penned this week with just under 1500 in total. Trade has begun to show the split we see every year with the creep fed lambs and the grass finished big singles setting two tiers in the trade, but this time the tiers are considerably higher than we have ever seen before, with the grass lambs selling for prices in line with what the best fed lambs made last year and often £160-£180/hd, with the fed sheep selling well past this and to a top price this week of £240/hd for a superb pen of heavy continental lambs from M J Ashworth. The average price per kilo would look a little down on last week but still running at 448p, despite more of the second tier sheep now being on offer.

The very best always rings the top bells and this week Miss Georgia Jackson showed some superb quality continental lambs at these topped at 507p/kg for 44kg lambs (£223/hd), with several other selling from 480-500p/kg from S W Mount, E J Stanford, Carol Wimble and Dan Hopper.
