New Season Lambs – 1,449

Auctioneer: John Rossiter 07557 392903

Top price per kilo – 364p – Eastlands Farm
Top price per head – £165.00 – C & J Georgetti & Sons, J A Biddle & M J Ashworth

A few less forward this week with a bigger percentage of fed lambs and less of the lighter weighted grass finished types that have been pulling the averages back in recent weeks. Trade was pretty disappointing at the end of last week purely based on the numbers that came out to markets and today it certainly has recovered with an average returned similar to last Tuesday and almost bang on the £3 kg price mark, which is hopefully where we will see the trade stabilise for the next few weeks with leaner lambs tending to head for the store rings instead of finished. Best lambs topped this week at £165 hd from M J Ashworth, C & J Georgetti & Sons and J A Biddle with the price per kilo stakes topped at 364p kg from Eastlands Farms.
