Top price per kilo – 358p – T H Carnaghan
Top price per head – £178.00 – P N & C Burden
A good entry of 1,500 lambs this week, with a large amount of well fed and properly finished types on show. These heavy lambs are really in demand currently due to shortage of supply nationally and prices are steadily creeping upwards, week on week. Top runs from C & J Georgetti & Sons, G H Dean & Co and T H Carnaghan all reached and exceeded £170 hd and top spot was taken by P N & C Burden at £178. T H Carnaghan justified his trip up from West Sussex by taking top spot in the price per kilo stakes at 358p kg (for 48kgs). It is starting to look like we will begin to run short on lambs in the coming weeks, with a number of the feeders now into the back end of their 2024 crop, potentially it is worth feeding a few…?
