New Season Lambs – 1,941 Sold

Top price: 346p/kg – T Husk
Top price per head: £172 – D J Morphett

Just a shade under 2,000 lambs penned this week and a slightly lower average returned but this is purely based on the quality of lambs on offer, with several leaner grass finished types on offer, these are selling on a very favourable trade from £105-£120 hd, but in terms of price per kilo they are on a different tier of the trade to the concentrate fed lambs. Some super runs of well finished lambs this week from G H Dean & Co, M J Ashworth, and C & J Georgetti & Sons, but top of the charts was taken by D J Morphett at £172 for some heavy lambs which is the top price we have seen so far this season. Export grade lambs from 36-42 kg were more plentiful this week and have sold form 320-350pkg.

Vendors Note – All consignments of sheep to Ashford must now be accompanied by a Sheep Entry Form, in addition to the AML1, to ensure we adhere to recent regulation changes. These are available to collect from the sales office, lairage and weighbridge or can be downloaded from the website.
