Top price per kilo – 365p – G L Harris, Kent.
Top price per head – £179.00 – L E Humphreys & Sons, Kent.
A small entry of lambs this week as numbers are really beginning to tighten up now, with fed lambs few and far between and the number of sheep that can be drawn off green fields now being quite limited. The trade is still there for the better offerings and some good runs of sheep today really did “ring the bell”. One run of note from S J Reeve & Sons with 120 lighter weighted lambs averaging 340p kg. Heavier sheep this week were on a similar level of 300-320p kg and topped at £179 from L E Humphreys & Sons with others from T J Bignell and W G Watkins & Sons over £170. SQQ averages were at about 310p kg this week with a top price of 365p kg taken by a loyal seller each week and a new name for the top of the list, G L Harris.
