Thomas Baker
Auction Administrator
My career started in horticulture in 2007 when I left full time education to start my own landscaping business. I went back to college a year later to further my learning and gain a qualification in my chosen career. 14 years running my own business helped me to develop a multitude of skills that I have been able to bring with me to my new role at Hobbs Parker Auctioneers LLP.
I started working here in August 2021 reading sheep tags and droving cattle, which led to the opportunity last year to move to a more administrative role, overseeing the general running of the livestock auctions alongside the auctioneers.
Outside of work, my heart belongs to farming. I’ve raised various types of livestock over the years, but the most rewarding aspect has been training my sheepdogs.
I also enjoy watching and playing snooker and I’ve recently taken up running with the village running group which I am rather enjoying and can now hit 5km in under 30 minutes.
