Buyers from throughout the South East and many from a lot further away attended this sale Store lambs were a tremendous trade and nearly 150 rams found new homes to go and breed. Read on for detailed reports from our auctioneers ….

Report on trade: Another flyer with store lamb prices topping last week’s exceptional trade.
Best stores either side of £100 with strong Suffolk Mule wethers topping the market at £103.50 from L E Humphreys & Sons and Romney wethers to £102 from G L Boulden & Sons. An overall average of £87.20 and only small long keeping lambs below £80.
A small entry of breeding sheep attracted lots of interest and competitive bidding with Texel tegs topping at £226 and Texel 1 / 2 lambers £162 from C W Baldock.
Strong demand all through with a ringside full of buyers keen to secure rams prior to that all important November deadline. Top Price of the day was £580 for a Suffolk from NA Balcomb & Son.
Texels topped at £500 (x2) for a quality run as ever from J Warnock & Son. J Goffin sold several to £480 and Acorn Farms topped there pen at £420. Overall 43 Texel’s sold to an average of £337.33.
Charollais were a tremendous trade for the show with a top of £530 from both N A Balcomb & Son and F & J M Rumsey with a total of 34 sold to an average of £301.62. 11 Romneys sold to an average of £284.55 with a top of £380 from NA Balcomb & Son. Crossbred rams being mainly Beltex x Charollais saw a tremendous following and trade with 17 sold to a top of £400 (x3) from N A Balcomb & Son, all in returning an average of £247.06.
