Lambs and Breeding Sheep

2,068 Sold

Auctioneer: John Rossiter 07557 392903

Report on trade: The smallest entry of lambs for the season was on offer this week but even though many doubted they could go any dearer, they definitely did. The overall average was £76 throughout all the store lambs on offer, and they were certainly not the strongest show we have seen this year!

Buyers were full of confidence and it appears that their fields are full of grass, but it must be said that the stronger end of the stores was pushed on by the recent lift in the finished sheep price. Top price on the day was £90 for Texel crosses from T Lyle and Ptnrs which was followed by £86 for Charollais crosses from J & C Kellet.

Just a few breeding sheep on offer with some ewe tegs selling to £86 from E Collins and a run of 150 Mule 2 lamb ewes from Stones Throw Farms making to £101 and averaged £99.60.
