Centred around the village inn, Hastingleigh is a small community situated high on the Downs. The village enjoys splendid views down over the valley and footpaths enabling you to explore the surrounding countryside. The village church dates back to 13th century.

The area is part of a National Nature Reserve and includes the locally famous `Devils Kneading Trough'. The Devil's Kneading Trough restaurant has won awards for its freshly cooked food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and enjoys views over the Wye Downs.

The nearest primary school is close by at Bodsham where the popular, olde worlde pub The Timberbatts serves good pub food. The village has a shop/post office and a village hall where plays are put on by the Evington Players.
