Bilsington is a small friendly village enjoying views across the Royal Military Canal and Romney Marsh. Village activities include a cricket club and an Art Group and there is very good coarse fishing available.
On the last Saturday of June each year they hold the Bilsington Art, Craft and Country Fair, a large and very popular event with crafts old and new and live music all held in and around Bilsington Priory which was founded in 1253. The Church of St Peter and St Paul dates back to the 13th century. As is so often the case the centre point of the village is the pub a regular meeting place for villagers where good food is served together with a warm welcome!
The Cosway Monument (a 150 year old obelisk used for navigational purposes, from sea, land and air) has recently been restored to its former glory.
Nearby Aldington has a good primary school, a butchers shop and a general store/post office and also welcomes the villagers of Bilsington to share its organisations which include Youth Club, Gardening Society, Playgroup, Short Mat Bowls and Badminton Club.
