Boughton Aluph is the larger village of the parish and is on the route used by the Pilgrims on their way to Canterbury, and Eastwell takes its name from a spring known to the Saxon herdsmen of the Downs and forest areas.

The beautiful Eastwell Estate is open to visitors and is an historic 3,000 acre park which includes Eastwell Lake while Eastwell Manor is renowned for the food served in it's restaurant and now boasts an impressive gym for private members only.

Cricket has been played on the village green for over 100 years and for even longer a fete has been held every year on the second Saturday in June. Houses surrounding the green enjoy an outlook which constantly reminds their owners that they live in a village rich in history and the whole of the parish is set in an area of outstanding natural

There are five buses a day into Ashford and organisations/clubs include Cricket Club, Womens Institute, Over 60s Club, Gardening Club, Carpet Bowls Club and an Art Group. Boughton Aluph Nursery and playgroup are held in the Church. Village walks are organised by villagers throughout the year.
