Sellindge village sits on the Hythe-Ashford road and the village church, with Norman tower, contains the tomb of Thomas Godfrey whose son Berry Godfrey was the victim of the famous unsolved murder mystery which has puzzled historians since 1678. There is also a Methodist Church.
A busy and friendly village, Sellindge has a post office/general store, hairdressers (by appointment), microwave shop and a greengrocers/pet store. Keen gardeners will appreciate the knowledge and advice offered at Potten Farm Nursery. There is a family run, olde worlde pub serving good food and a warm welcome.
Football and cricket are played on the village green which also has swings etc., and tennis courts. There is an active Sports and Social Club within the Village Hall. Just a few of the organisations in the village include Brownies, Guides, Cricket Club, Football Club, Aerobics, Line Dancing, WI, Bowls and Gardening Society. Once a year the village goes back in time and becomes alive with the sound of steam engines at the famous Sellindge Steam Fair which attracts visitors from all over the South-East.
