The old English name for Kingsnorth was Cyninges Snad meaning detached land belonging to a Royal estate and in Henry II's reign wild boars head was served to Royalty from the ancient forests of Kingsnorth where boar abounded. There is a thriving village primary school, village hall and playing field and the family run village pub is open all day - serving excellent food. Kingsnorth is a very active village with clubs and organisations for just about every age group and these include a Gardeners Club, weekly Drama Group, Kingsnorth Village Society, Youth Club and Ballroom
and Latin American Dance Classes for the children. Each year the villagers pair up with the village of Shadoxhurst and hold a May Fair and Dog Show which is very well supported. For the more sporting there is a cricket and a football club.
There is fast access to Ashford via the new orbital roads and a regular bus service. The town centre, station and M20 are all within 10 minutes drive.
