Mersham is a small village dating back to Saxon times. For over 500 years the village was owned by the Archbishops of Canterbury. Only 5 mins away from junction 10 of the M20 and within easy reach of a mainline railway station Mersham maintains its village atmosphere whilst being ideally situated for commuters.
Swanton Mill in lower Mersham is a working watermill and has won awards for its restoration and is open to the public at weekends during the summer. The beautiful church of St John the Baptist stands on the site of a Saxon church and is part Norman.
A friendly little village, Mersham offers many activities including two sports clubs, Afternoon Club and WI., Brownies, Dog Training classes and Indoor Bowls. Both the pubs in the village offer a warm welcome and serve good tasty food and there are currently plans afoot to re-open the village shop.
