Set in wooded, agricultural countryside Hothfield is a busy and friendly village with a Gardening Club, Angling Club, the Merry and Bright Club and Cubs where girls are accepted! The pub is extremely popular and holds many events during the year including quiz nights and barbecues during the summer months. The Post Office doubles up as the village shop selling everything from washing powder to birthday cards. There is a recreation ground with swings and climbing bars etc.

The lovely old church, largely rebuilt in 1624, is set high to the south and stands in the grounds of Hothfield Place which has a beautiful artificial lake and waterfall. Fishing is allowed by special permission.

Walking Common...

Hothfield Common consists of about 143 acres of woodland with footpaths and a nature trail and is a local nature reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest. Villagers can often be found walking the Common in peace and quiet at weekends and in the evenings.
